NEW STRAITS TIMES: Dani FC and Nama FC take honours

18 June: SEASONED futsallers Dani FC were in unbeatable form as they subdued Kartallar FC 4-3 to emerge as the men’s Open champions of the Milo Hidup Bola Carnival over the weekend.

Dani FC, who have won numerous titles — including a trip to a futsal tournament in Rio de Janeiro, received RM10,000 for their efforts.

“This victory is an added motivation for us when we compete in Brazil soon. Our boys worked very hard. We trained three times a week,” said manager-coach Aizul Rohan Anuar.

Nama FC won the women’s Open, beating Phoenix FC 2-1 in the final. They earned RM5,000.

“We have a good mix of players from the private and public sector and even a player from Sabah. We are serious futsal players,” said manager-coach Nur Izwani Azman.
